Install Gmail / Google Workspace
Share files from the Gmail compose pane: upload them in PrivCloud, then insert their link into your draft. This guide helps you install and authorize the add-on.
Before downloading
Web uploads follow your account permissions. WebDAV imports through Companion require Pro or active Team membership.
- Use the same Google account in Gmail and Apps Script. This beta is installed for personal testing from source. It is not yet available on Google Workspace Marketplace.
- The add-on adds a link to the draft when you request it. It does not need to read your mailbox or recipients, enable Gmail API or create an OAuth client in Google Cloud Console.
- An organization may block Apps Script or unpublished add-ons. Distribution to other people still requires deployment and Google/Workspace approval.
Beta download
Manual installation. Packages are not yet distributed through stores. Verify the checksum before installing and keep your recovery data safe.

Download and extract the ZIP
Also download checksums.sha256. Compare the file SHA-256 with the line bearing its exact name before installing.
SHA-256 checksumsCreate the Apps Script project
Open script.google.com with the account used in Gmail. Select New project and name it PrivCloud Gmail. Replace all content in Code.gs with the Code.gs file from the ZIP, then save.
Create my Apps Script projectShow and replace the manifest
Select the Project Settings gear. Enable Show appsscript.json manifest file in editor. Return to Editor, open appsscript.json, replace its entire content with the manifest below and save. This configures the add-on permissions. PrivCloud sign-in OAuth settings are separate.

}Authorize the add-on with your account
In Editor, select authorizePrivCloud from the function list, then Run. If Google prompts you, select Review permissions, choose your account and grant the displayed permissions. If your organization blocks the app, ask its administrator to approve it. A completed execution does not yet mean the add-on is installed.
Install the test deployment
Select Deploy in the top-right corner, then Test deployments. Choose Google Workspace Add-on if needed, select Install, then OK or Done. If an older version is installed, select Uninstall first, then Install. Refresh the Gmail tab.
Find PrivCloud in Gmail
Create a new email. In the toolbar near Send, select the PrivCloud icon. If it is hidden, look in the three-dot menu. The add-on may also appear in the right sidebar. It shows three steps for sharing your files.
Insert your first link
In the pane, select Choose my files in PrivCloud. Finish uploading in the new tab and copy the full share link. Return to the draft, paste it into the pane field, then select Insert link into email. Check the result before sending your message.
Need help?
To update an existing installation, replace BOTH Code.gs and appsscript.json, run authorizePrivCloud, reinstall the test deployment and refresh Gmail. Rebuilding PrivCloud on your computer does not update your Apps Script project.
