Install Companion Android

The local WebDAV connector for your Android browser.

Before downloading

Using Companion, WebDAV and the native app requires a Pro account or active Team membership.

Android 8 or newer. The full app and Companion are separate tools.

Manual installation. Packages are not yet distributed through stores. Verify the checksum before installing and keep your recovery data safe.

Choose and verify the APK

Also download checksums.sha256. Compare the file SHA-256 with the line bearing its exact name before installing.

Install on Android

Open the downloaded APK, temporarily allow this installation source, then revoke that permission. These APKs use a debug signing key. If Android rejects an update due to a different signature, back up your data and contact support before uninstalling.

Start the connector

Open Android Companion and start the connector. Return to PrivCloud on the same device, allow the local connection if your browser requests it and select WebDAV import.

Check that it works

Return to Integrations, select Refresh and check that the extension and Companion are detected. Sign in and try importing a small WebDAV file using a revocable app password.

Check the Android version and architecture. Do not ignore an unexplained security alert or uninstall a vault containing your only keys.
